STNA Program

STNA Program

Good Samaritan College of Nursing & Health Science is launching its new STNA Program for Spring 2022. The two week program is offered every month with a classroom cap of 8 students each month. Classes are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m.

The course is designed to teach patient assistance in long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living, and home care settings. Topics covered include:

  • Patient care and safety while assisting with activities of daily living

  • Therapeutic and affective communication skills

  • Observation skills and reporting

  •  Performing delegated duties

  • Resident’s rights

Students who complete this course successfully with an 80% or higher are qualified to take the Ohio Department of Health Competency Evaluation Test for the State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA), which after successfully passing the Knowledge exam (75% or higher) and the Skills test (80% or higher without missing any BOLD steps) will be placed onto the Ohio Department Nurse Aide Registry as a STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide).

Hospital

The Good Samaritan College campus is located in Good Samaritan Hospital, part of the TriHealth medical system.

Student

Our students practice their medical skills in our nationally-recognized Simulation and Skills Lab.

Faculty

Study under faculty with doctorate degrees in their field.
