Nursing Goals


The aim of the Nursing Program is to educate professional nurses prepared to meet the health care needs of a changing society. As a result of participation in the Program and its related activities, the graduate is prepared to:

  • Respect the uniqueness and dignity of self and others.
  • Integrate the principles of biological, physical, and psychosocial sciences in the promotion of optimal wellness.
  • Interact with individuals and groups using interpersonal and communication skills to bring about changed behavior.
  • Collaborate with individuals and groups in order to meet human needs at various stages of the life cycle.
  • Apply the nursing process in the administration of nursing care to individuals and groups.
  • Pursue professional and personal growth and community involvement.
  • Function as a beginning staff nurse who is committed to the profession and contributes to the delivery of healthcare services.
